The Manteri pepper is grown in its natural habitat without pesticides and insecticides. The pepper vine thrives when there is filtered sunlight as well as ample rainfall. Sufficient water needs to be supplied, but care needs to be taken to see that soil doesn’t retain moisture for too long. These conditions and the fact that the creeper is susceptible to many diseases are why this spice is grown only in certain parts of the world.

The stately and towering trees of the Manteri estate support the growing lush green vines of pepper. The place receives abundant rainfall, and the fact that the vines are grown on slopes is perfect and works in our favour. The estate team ensures that the vine receives all the required nutrition in the form of vermicompost, mulching of grass and water irrigation so that the best crop can be harvested.
