We are currently in the midst of a major change in what people eat and in the way they eat because traditional eating has been related to positive health outcomes and sustainability.
To celebrate this sentiment and keep our traditional way of cooking alive, our artisanal black pepper Murukku’s are handmade using rice flour, black pepper, salt and wood pressed coconut oil. All the ingredients are ethically sourced from local farmers in Palakkad, Kerala.
The rice flour is kneaded with the black pepper and salt. This dough is then passed through a wood Murukku maker into hot oil on a chulha. Traditionally, coconut oil is used for deep-frying the murukku’s, which gives a pleasant aroma while eating and also makes them a healthier option to eat.
Handmade in small batches, our murukku’s have no preservatives, no artificial flavour or color added.
Enjoy them with a cup of steaming chai or coffee or just by themselves.
